Charities, CICs and community groups planning the year ahead, facing a funding gap, or wanting to grow beyond one or two funders.

What we'll cover

We start with your organisation as it is today: what you deliver, what it costs, where your income comes from and how secure each source feels. Then we look outwards at the trusts, foundations, lottery and public funders whose priorities genuinely match your work, and the ones that are probably a poor fit, so you can stop spending time on them.

We'll talk about the balance between project funding and core costs, how far ahead you should be planning, and the small things funders tend to check first, such as policies, accounts and evidence of the difference you make.

How it works

Tools may help us gather background on funders before the call and tidy our notes afterwards. The thinking, the advice and the written plan come from a person, who reads and stands behind every word.

Questions

Do I need a Serin subscription?
No. If you have one, we'll use your profile to prepare, so the call can start further along.
Who should join the call?
Whoever makes funding decisions with you. That might be a director, a trustee or the person who writes your bids. Up to three people works well.
Will you tell us which funders will say yes?
No. Nobody can honestly promise that. We'll tell you which kinds of funders suit your work and why, and what would make your case stronger.
Can the plan lead into other help?
If you'd like it to. Some organisations go on to use our grant writing service for their first priority fund, and others take the plan and run with it themselves.
