Terms of Service

1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using Serin ("the Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you disagree with any part of these terms, you may not access the Platform.

These Terms apply to all visitors, users, and others who access or use the Platform. By using Serin, you represent that you are at least 18 years old and have the authority to enter into these Terms on behalf of yourself or your organisation.

2. Description of Service

Serin is an AI-powered grant writing platform designed to help UK charities and non-profit organisations discover grant opportunities and create compelling grant applications. Our services include:

  • AI-assisted grant application writing
  • Grant opportunity matching and discovery
  • Application tracking and management
  • Document storage and organisation
  • Collaboration tools for teams
  • Deadline reminders and notifications

3. Account Registration

To use certain features of Serin, you must register for an account. When you register, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate, current, and complete information
  • Maintain and promptly update your account information
  • Keep your password secure and confidential
  • Accept responsibility for all activities under your account
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorised use

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or for any other reason at our discretion.

4. Subscription and Payment

4.1 Pricing

Serin operates on a subscription basis. Current pricing is £35 + VAT per month per user. Prices may change with 30 days' notice.

4.2 Free Trial

We offer a 7-day free trial for new users. A valid payment method is required to start the trial. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, you will be charged for the subscription.

4.3 Billing

Subscriptions are billed monthly in advance. All fees are non-refundable except as required by law. You are responsible for any applicable taxes.

4.4 Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. No refunds will be provided for partial months.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree to use Serin only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree NOT to:

  • Use the Platform for any illegal purpose or to submit fraudulent grant applications
  • Violate any laws, regulations, or third-party rights
  • Transmit any malicious code, viruses, or harmful content
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Platform
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Platform's operation
  • Use automated systems to access the Platform without permission
  • Collect or harvest any personal information from other users
  • Impersonate any person or entity
  • Use the Platform to send spam or unsolicited communications
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Platform

6. Intellectual Property

6.1 Our Content

The Platform and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by Serin and are protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works without our express written permission.

6.2 Your Content

You retain ownership of all content you upload or create using Serin, including grant applications and supporting documents. By using the Platform, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use, store, and process your content solely to provide our services to you.

6.3 AI-Generated Content

Content generated by our AI tools is owned by you. However, you acknowledge that similar content may be generated for other users and that AI-generated content should be reviewed and customised before submission.

7. AI Services and Limitations

You acknowledge and agree that:

  • AI-generated content is provided as a starting point and should be reviewed, edited, and verified before use
  • The AI may occasionally produce inaccurate, incomplete, or inappropriate content
  • You are solely responsible for reviewing and verifying all content before submission to grant funders
  • Serin does not guarantee that AI-generated content will result in successful grant applications
  • The AI's suggestions do not constitute professional advice

8. Grant Database

We strive to maintain accurate and up-to-date grant information. However:

  • Grant information is sourced from third parties and may change without notice
  • We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or availability of any grant opportunity
  • You should always verify grant details directly with the funding body
  • Eligibility assessments are indicative only and should be verified independently

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE PLATFORM IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

  • MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE
  • NON-INFRINGEMENT
  • ACCURACY, RELIABILITY, OR COMPLETENESS OF CONTENT
  • UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE SERVICE
  • SECURITY FROM CYBER ATTACKS OR DATA BREACHES

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:

  • SERIN SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES
  • OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRIOR TO THE CLAIM
  • WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR ANY LOSS OF FUNDING, REJECTED APPLICATIONS, OR MISSED OPPORTUNITIES

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Serin, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from:

  • Your use of the Platform
  • Your violation of these Terms
  • Your violation of any third-party rights
  • Content you submit or create using the Platform

12. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account and access to the Platform immediately, without prior notice, for any reason, including breach of these Terms. Upon termination:

  • Your right to use the Platform ceases immediately
  • You may export your data within 30 days
  • We may delete your data after the 30-day period
  • Provisions that should survive termination will remain in effect

13. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will provide notice of material changes by email or through the Platform. Your continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

14. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Platform shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

15. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

16. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Serin regarding the use of the Platform and supersede any prior agreements.
