Terms of Service

These terms are between Serin ("we", "us", "Serin") and the organisation that creates an account ("you", "your organisation"). By creating an account, or by continuing to use Serin after we've told you these terms have changed, you're agreeing to them on behalf of your organisation.

You confirm you're authorised to agree to these terms for your organisation. If you're signing up as an individual rather than on behalf of a formally constituted organisation (for example, an idea-stage group that hasn't yet registered), these terms still apply to you personally until your organisation exists and takes over the account.

Serin helps your organisation find grant funders, understand what they're asking for, and prepare stronger applications using your own information. Serin surfaces funders' real published requirements where we hold them, and helps you draft answers grounded in facts you've given us.

Serin is not a guarantee of funding. We don't decide who gets funded, we don't submit applications on your behalf unless you explicitly ask us to via a paid service, and matching an opportunity doesn't mean you'll be eligible or successful. The final decision always sits with the funder.

Serin is not legal, financial, tax or governance advice. Features that help with organisational structure, policies or readiness are designed to help you think it through and point you to further guidance: they narrow down good options, they don't make the decision for you. For anything with real legal or financial consequences, please get independent professional advice.

• You're responsible for keeping your account credentials secure, including using two-factor authentication where we offer it.
• You can sign in with a password, an emailed sign in link, or your Google or Microsoft account. If you use Google or Microsoft, keeping that account secure is part of keeping your Serin account secure. We only receive your name and email address from them.
• You're responsible for the accuracy of the information your organisation provides. Serin drafts from what you tell it; it doesn't invent facts, but it also can't correct something you've told it that isn't true.
• You own the content you put into Serin: your organisation's profile, your application answers, your uploaded documents. We don't sell it, and we don't use it to train models for anyone outside the operation of Serin itself.
• How we handle personal data is set out in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.

• Serin is one plan at £35 a month per organisation, including VAT, or £350 a year, including VAT. Each plan includes 1 team member. Each additional team member is £5 a month, including VAT, or £50 a year, including VAT, on the annual plan.
• When you add a team member part way through a billing period, you pay a pro-rated charge for the rest of that period, shown as its own line on your invoice. When you remove a team member or withdraw a waiting invitation, the charge stops from your next bill, with a credit for unused time. Only the organisation's owner can add or remove team members.
• New organisations can use Serin for free, including a complete, real application through to a downloadable submission pack: before any payment is required. What's free and what needs a subscription is shown clearly in the product as you use it.
• Once subscribed, you're billed monthly in advance. You can cancel at any time from Settings; cancelling stops future billing but doesn't refund the current billing period unless we say otherwise.
• If a payment fails and isn't put right, we'll let you know and your account may move to a locked, read-only state until it's resolved. We don't delete your data for a lapsed subscription: it's kept so you can pick back up.
• Serin is VAT registered. Subscription prices are shown in GBP and include VAT, and your invoice shows the VAT amount. We'll give you reasonable notice before any price change takes effect for your organisation.
• Serin's own services (the funding strategy call, grant writing and grant strategy and consultancy) are priced before VAT, and VAT at 20% is added. Quotes and invoices show the price, the VAT and the total. The subscriber discount of 10% comes off the price before VAT. Application reviews are priced including VAT.

You agree not to:

• Use Serin to submit false or knowingly misleading information to a funder.
• Try to access another organisation's data, or attempt to circumvent the access controls that keep organisations' data separate.
• Resell or provide access to Serin to anyone outside your own organisation.
• Use Serin's funder or question data to build a competing product, or scrape it at scale.
• Do anything that could reasonably damage Serin's systems or other users' access to them.

We aim to keep Serin available and working well, but we don't promise it will be uninterrupted or fault-free: this is a growing platform and things occasionally need fixing. We'll try to give notice of planned downtime where we reasonably can.

We may add, change or remove features over time as the product develops. If we remove something you rely on in a way that materially affects your subscription, we'll tell you in advance where reasonably possible.

Nothing in these terms limits liability for anything that can't legally be limited under English law, including death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud.

Beyond that, Serin's liability to your organisation for any claim arising from your use of the service is limited to the amount your organisation paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose. We're not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including lost funding opportunities, lost income, or the outcome of any application you make using information from Serin.

You remain responsible for reviewing anything Serin helps you draft before you submit it to a funder. Serin is a tool to help you prepare a stronger application; it doesn't replace your own judgement about what you submit.

You can close your account at any time by contacting us or, where available, using the account controls in Settings. We may suspend or close an account that breaches section 5 (Acceptable use), or where a subscription remains unpaid for an extended period after reasonable attempts to resolve it.

If your account is closed, we'll handle your data as described in our Privacy Policy.

We may update these terms as Serin develops. For any change that materially affects your rights, we'll give you reasonable notice before it takes effect: normally by email and by updating the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use Serin after a change takes effect means you accept the updated terms.

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and any dispute will be dealt with by the courts of England and Wales.
